High-rise living the future, says FT Minister

KUALA Lumpur residents can expect more skyscrapers for their future homes rather than bungalows and terraced houses.

“Let us be logical here, the city is growing and land is getting more and more scarce,” said Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.

“We cannot live in landed properties such as bungalows or terraced houses anymore and we have to adapt to living in high-rise buildings to ensure the city can cope with the increasing number of residents,” he said at the Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur Strata Community Convention 2017 at Institut Latihan DBKL, Bandar Tun Razak.

He said the convention hoped to educate the public, especially members of Joint Management Bodies and Management Committees on strata title laws and regulations, especially on the Strata Management (Maintenance and Management) Regulations 2015, also known as Act 757.

The system aims to act as a platform for them to lodge complaints related to their properties as well as access the building’s structural plan in 3D.

The BMIS will connect the strata title owners with Kuala Lumpur City Hall’s building commissioners.
